Symptoms of Youth Anxiety

Recognizing anxiety symptoms in your child is the first step towards restoring your child’s well being. The symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder in children can vary from those seen in adults. Some of the common symptoms in children include:
• Headaches or stomach aches
• Tics, nervous habits, or compulsive behaviors such as nail biting or hair pulling
• School avoidance or refusal to go
• Decreased performance and lack of concentration at school
• Avoidance of social activities
• Persistent Worries
• Overly self-critical and a high need for reassurance
If some of these symptoms apply to your child, please contact us for more information about a study we are conducting for children and adolescents with generalized anxiety disorder. Our study is for children ages 7-17. Participation in this study provides close monitoring and comprehensive study-related care from a physician specialist at no cost.
